Continue learning, graduates urged
GRADUATES must continue learning to keep themselves abreast of changing trends. Penang Education, Economic Planning, Human Resource, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman Datuk Toh Kin Woon said learning was a lifelong process. “One has to keep learning to keep up with the trends of this dynamic society,” he said when presenting diploma certificates to 93 students of Equator Academy of Art during the graduation ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel in Penang on June 26. The graduates earned diplomas in graphic and multimedia design, interior design, architectural technology, fashion design technology and fine art.

Principal Chuah Kooi Yong said the college had a good track record of providing quality courses.
“One of our outstanding students is Lim Loh Wei who recently won the Star Designers Award in KL Fashion Week,” he said.
Four graduates, Ivona (graphic and multimedia design), Melissa Sharon Emuang (interior design), Chow Eng Khuang (architectural technology) and Ooi Ean Lay (fine art) bagged the best student award in their respective majors.
Ivona from Medan, Indonesia, said her dream was to be a designer. “I love both music and designing and hope to be able to combine the two by applying music elements to my design work,” she said.
